Introduction
The long cherished dream of the Sree Ayyappa Temple at Yeshwanthpur is in it’s final stages. The installation of the Dwajasthambha is next and the 46 feet long teak pole has already been acquired and brought to the temple premises.
Which now moves us to the next stage of preparing & seasoning of the huge teak log as per ancient traditional process called Thailadivasam before it is covered in copper and installed.
Thailam
The specially prepared Thilam ( Medicated Herbal Oil) is made in a traditional process with pure Gingely oil and 108 other herbs.
Thailadivasam
The Thanthri, the Yajamana and Devotees who will book for Thailadhivasam will pour the thailam onto the log kept in a specially prepared tank. The dwajasthambha will be kept immersed in the Thailam for a specific period of time as prescribed.
